Managing the Grocery Store

An independent, full-service, avant-garde boutique specializing in contemporary and haute couture. A part of an iconic bay area chain owned by Susan Foslien, a renown West Coast fashion incubator.


Served as a business manager and product specialist, overseeing everything from general retail operations and product planning to clients/vendor management; Maintained an exclusive clientele of over 500+ fashionistas and an international word-of-mouth that attracted visitors from around the globe for a wide range of fashion needs, including: personal styling, customizations, repairs and restorations, and bespoke pieces. With 30+ years in contemporary and couture fashion, the brand was able to, additionally, serve as an advisor to many emerging luxury brands and as a voice for emerging issues in the supply chain, especially as the industry began to shift towards digital.

• Managed and monitored the product and inventory strategy, which required: Forecasting and evaluation, sourcing and procurment, brand analysis, merchandising, quality control, events planning, educational material, and sales; the insights of these functions empowered my team to educate vendors, as well as leverage the brand to develop exclusive merchandise, from ideation to ready-to-wear that offered unique design, fabrics, colors and prints for our clients.


• Drove an annual revenue of $3MM + by curating a continuously evolving merchandise selection that featured emerging talent, cultivating a strong client base, and developing stylistic congruency between our selection and that of our sister store.


• The Brand portfolio included: Johnathan Simkai, Golden Goose, Johnathan Sanders, Charlotte Olympia, Current Elliot, The Elder Statesmen, The Row, Magestic, Comme des Garsons, Frame, Crippen, Madeworn…etc.
